What’s the Diet Hype?

Paleo, Gluten free, Lactose free, Organic, GMO, non GMO,  give me a break! So much is going on in the diet world, we need to keep up with the hype. I guess calling it a healthy lifestyle and food compositions as well as mix, is what really matters and defines a better purpose rather than just the labeling. Not all of us have the same body types or even composition, one diet plan may work wonders for some and be a complete fail for others, or it could in fact go beyond fail to a complete mess of the digestive system, hormones, metabolism and psych for others. I think after visiting so many clinics, trying so many diets and plans, the only solution and cure lies within you. Simply, listen to your body and let it tell you what you really need, believe me,  there is no one who would understand you more than yourself. In other words, “You would know better”. On one condition though, no cheating. So, let us just quickly review the benefits of the following and determine what can work for me: Paleo:

Gluten Free Diet

The gluten-free diet is a mainstream diet, one of the fastest growing nutritional movements in the world, gaining popularity for its health and therapeutic benefits. It is safe, and can be healthy for everyone. According to different sources Gluten Free help reduce and even get rid of the following:

  • Fatigue
  • Headaches (including migraines)
  • Joint/muscle pain (often misdiagnosed as fibromyalgia)
  • Infertility
  • Mood disorders (depression)
  • Gastrointestinal distress (diarrhea, constipation, gas, bloating, reflux)
  • Insomnia
  • Seizures
  • Respiratory distress (including asthma)
  • Lactose intolerance
  • Skin disorders (often misdiagnosed as eczema)
  • Autoimmune diseases (type 1diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis)
  • Weight gain or weight loss

There is no rush, take it easy, just one step at a time, and don’t let the trend get you. Take your time in selecting what works best for YOU, and then instantly activate this lifestyle and start enjoying it’s benefits.

I do try to eat more natural food than ones with preservatives. I still eat gluten and sugar, too. I drink milk and eat eggs. Hope I can keep on trying to be more healthy. smiles, Robin

    1. Hi Robin. Thanks for your feedback. I guess we all try to follow the healthy path and sometimes forget because of the many food temptations and unhealthy options smartly backed through commercials and ads…in the hope that one day, healthy options will be more accessible and win over..We just need to continuously remind ourselves of the benefits 🙂

    1. Yes agree with you, “everything in moderation is key”. But we should keep away from anything that can damage our bodies and is GMO, or anything of that sort…

  3. I’m a believer of the ‘in moderation’ diet and the ‘oh if I must have a dark chocolate at 10 this morning, I will’ diet I also listen to my bod,y as you say. Nuts don’t work for me, so they’re off my diet. Processed food makes me feel bloaty and bad, so I avoid entirely. Love fresh veggies, a little bit of protein (meat), lots of fish, and don’t take away my baked potato. Green Tea seems to soothe, and a glass of red wine at night is a perfect dessert. Ta da, I have my own diet.
    Nice to meet you here!

    1. Hi Pam! thanks for stopping by viewsandreviews.me and your lovely comment! Wow you surely make food sound so delicious and tempting, that one would really want to keep away from all those processed stuff, and GMO…they call food. Your post reminded me of a discussion I had this morning with my friends 🙂 they are so health conscious and so loyal to their diets,,,yet they know how to enjoy their chocolate and wine like connoisseurs, just like you have so righteously mentioned 🙂 Such a dedication to their health and love of good fresh organic food, shows in their skin and energy!

Pam nice to meet you too!
Stay in touch and keep us updated with your colourful diet:).
